About Us
We are approximately 35 minutes west of the Waitomo Caves in the beautiful farming valley of Marokopa. After doing several of the Great NZ walks, we decided we had beautiful bush and wanted to build a lodge, open up some old bush logging tracks and share our piece of paradise with people. We are very passionate about where we live - from the breath taking views of the rugged west coast, to the tranquillity of the bush and natural surroundings.

"The owners of Kainui Lodge. Syd and Jan, were extremely accommodating, helpful and welcoming from the moment we booked until the moment we left. Kainui Lodge – well the scenery is spectacular. The Lodge serves it purpose well with cooking and dining facilities for large groups and upstairs for relaxing while taking in the breath-taking views. The accommodation is clean, tidy and ablution blocks likewise. Stars loved their time at Kainui and both players and management are looking to return with their own families as well as a future camp. "Our second year with our group of 7x families to this extremely special spot. Jan and Syd are the most welcoming hosts and we have all fallen in love with this place. This year we went floating down the river for 2hrs - wow what an adventure. We also found rock pools which the kids loved. This place has everything you need for an off grid getaway. See you next year.
